Holdings of the Zombie Queen


I would love to run a campaign of Encounter Critical!, for money though, and if I am going to charge I should have a decent idea of what the Mighty World of Vanth looks like where the game starts. I think I want to start PCs in the north east of the continent. From the Slaver Kingdoms in the north all the way down to The Forbidden Waste and the Unknown Highway. The names for areas of western Vanth all have a fantasy taint to them. I want to stay more gonzo space fantasy. Steel Warlords, Ape Sultans, and Darth Viraxis feel more in line with Mad Max/Gamma World then does City of Blackhawk and the Silent Glade. Though the City of Bloodhaven may have promise and The Limb Traders is dope as hell.


But my eyes are irresistibly drawn to the Holdings of the Zombie Princess. I envision a cracked, dead land endlessly broken by narrow ravines, carved over millennia by acid-rain storms driven by violent, pale winds. The Princess's Keep, her Holdings themselves, are these same cataracts found everywhere else in the realm repurposed by the gods for who knows what purpose. The Zombie Princess uses them as a vast subterranean prison to cage the living and her hungry horde of Zombie Armies. 

It is very difficulty to travel the land without a knowledgeable guide, someone who knows how to navigate the twisted and blasted landscape without getting hopelessly lost. Unfortunately this leaves only the feral ghouls which haunt the black corners as such people, and they are more interested in eating you then being of service. The numerous cannibal tribes of dead flesh eaters nightly crave live sacrifice for their evil rites spoken in ghastly gibberish. These hungry hordes plague their nearby neighbors with continuous raids and infuriate the Slave Lords the most. Passing the Holdings along the Unknown Highway has become untenable, and the Klengons refuse any entry to their mountain colonies to the east. If the Slaver Kingdoms need to search westward for buyers, the people of the east become the supply of new slaves being sold in the other direction. Viraxis would not want to see their situation reversed, and has agreed to assist in a joint venture to gather intel on the Zombie Princess's power and strength. Enter the PCs who now must travel through the Holdings and seek court with the ruler of the dead. To find out what it will take to curtail ghouls raiding the Unknown Highway. 

I would crib T2-T4 The Temple of Elemental Evil for the underground city of the Zombie Princess. I'll read over the module itself and see if anything else is worth lifting, or just the maps.

Desert Adventure Generator for Fear & Loathing USR

The rules for this nifty game are not currently available, but the creator of (U)nbelievably (S)imple (R)oleplaying game Scott Malthouse offers the basic USR rules for free to download. The game mechanics are, well, simple, so having an interesting adventure is more important than having an interesting rule book.

I've dusted off Fear & Loathing in Fat City, the game's first official adventure, now that I have InDesign. I find this professional piece of software far exceeds other design software out there and is the only way to go to make POD and PDF game products for sale.

There are several tables in the adventure which drive the action and I am posting them here. Please feel free to use and critique at your leisure...

Killer Clown, Living Dead Girl and Murican Warlock for USR


Have to call it a night but I did make some ground on completing a PDF of all this. Here is another three PM character classes converted to USR statistics. I give you the following; 

Killer Clown! After the trauma, you realized that all the world is one big absurd joke. You also felt the need to paint your face like a harlequin and dress in jester’s motley – hey, if the world makes fools of us all, why not double down on being a fool. Life is short and you want to show the goodly people of Planet Motherfucker how to laugh – even as they choke on their own blood.

This is a continuation of my previous post on Jack Shear's Planet Motherfucker and converting the described character classes to the classic (U)nbelievably (S)imple (R)oleplaying rules. Rules which are free! from Trollish Delver Games here on DriveThruRPG.

Today I am converting the following three character classes; Doom Nun/Hellfire Preacher, Dr. Satan/Nurse Lilith and the Facebreaker!

I kick ass for the lord, or just because kicking ass feels goood! The Doom Nun (or Hellfire Preacher)!

Bodies tend to come apart with alarming frequency on Planet Motherfucker. Arms get ripped off, torsos get riddled with bullets, legs get run over by motorbikes. Stitching all that human mess back together is just part of the gig for Dr. Satan & Nurse Lilith!

You may not enjoy brutalizing others (but then again this is Planet Motherfucker so you just might) but it’s something you absolutely excel at. Hey, if you got the gift, might as well use it.

Planet Motherfucker is perfect for USR


Jack Shear's Planet Motherfucker is a tight, compact setting book for Savage Worlds RPG. The conventions of character creation in Savage Worlds ports over really simply to the classic (U)nbelievably (S)imple (R)oleplaying rules. Rules which are free! from Trollish Delver Games here on DriveThruRPG.

I'm drafting each one of the starting character classes from the Planet Motherfucker sourcebook here on my blog. When I've finished I should be able to make a PDF compiled document for allz youze enjoyment, you voyeuristic, post-apoc sleaz-oids! I'll start off with three character classics for playing in this delightful psycho-hillbilly-hellscape game world; the Chainsaw Paladin, Brickhouse Amazon and the Creepbot 2000!

Despite living in a world gone mad, you've sworn to uphold a moral code and fight for truth, justice, and the Murican way. The instrument in your fight to bring order to a lawless land is...a chainsaw. If you're going to cut the Gordian knot of Planet Motherfucker, might as well do it with whirring teeth of utter destruction. This is why they call you the Chainsaw Paladin!

Random Spawn of Shub-Niggurath

This is a generator for creating an instant Spawn of Shub-Niggurath from Geoffrey McKinney's Carcosa:
